Self-talk and Presence

Presence is a state of conscious awareness that goes beyond our habitual, usually negative, conditioned thinking, and criticising self-talk.

Many people get beaten up by the talk in their head, the inner critic, the conditioned mind but they don’t know it.

They are so fully identified with this nagging voice in their head that they don’t leave any space through which they can come to know that there is actually something beyond and bigger and more loving than it.

For the time that they are identified with it, they ARE the voice in the head

Through the practice of mindful presence, we can become aware that there is a voice in the head.

This gives us the ability to move beyond it. This unconditioned and unconditional loving awareness allows us to be the observer of our own mind, the observer of the thought processes that are going on instead of being controlled by them.

We need to let go of the suffering of the conditioned mind. Unhappiness is, to a large extent, more about the thought processing going on in our minds than about the actual situation that is happening on the outside. It is entirely possible to reach a state of peace and joy that bears no relation whatsoever to any external circumstances, even horrific ones.

There are many instances of people living in what many would consider to be unbearable conditions who were able to find a way to be at peace within themselves and stay happy. One such instance that is often mentioned is Viktor Frankl a holocaust survivor and another is Captain Gerald Coffee, a POW in Vietnam.

More and more people are starting to shift into this new aware way of being, discovering the possibility of connecting to the loving presence within, freeing themselves from being trapped in the conditioned mind

In fact I passionately believe that this shift can no longer be considered a luxury, available only to the few, but rather a natural movement and requirement for the healing of the present suffering in this world.

Now is the time!

Let us together change ourselves and the world for the better

With presence and awareness comes choice. We can choose how to respond in any situation that we find ourselves in so that we are no longer at the mercy of the conditioned mind or triggered emotions. We can become free and liberated from the control of our own minds and choose how we are going to respond.

In a state of conscious awareness, or presence, we are no longer used or controlled by our mind, but rather we are using or have mastered the mind. It becomes our servant.

We stop being self-identified with the kind of thinking that leads to suffering and set ourselves free from its domination, being free of the commentary and simply being with that and embracing all, in one big loving embrace.

“Since I joined the group, I have learned how to slow my thoughts through simple breathing techniques, and then connect my breathing to my heart. I’ve learned how to quieten my mind enough to hear and listen to my heart. I’ve learned that I am enough, and I have always been enough, I am loved, and I have always been loved and am love. I have always been… I had just forgotten.

Now I am learning to remember.

The best thing of all that I have learned, is that I always have a choice. I can choose whatever I like. I am learning to become an observer of my thoughts and reactions, which is enabling me to realize that there are other options, other thoughts to think… which create other feelings… I can choose to feel happy whenever I wish, no matter what I might have previously automatically thought. I love this feeling – it feels like being free… to be me… to be happy and loved… and to love x Joy, much love and gratitude to you… Today, I am remembering, and my wish is that I remember this every single day of my life xxx”
